The Force is almost awakened! Another slice of the Star Wars The Force Awakens epic-ness was released today by way of a new trailer. It’s dark, ominous and hella cool.
This new trailer packs a Star Wars sized punch that will have fans hyperventilating all over the world – we know we are.
Destitute dessert landscapes, new robotic sidekicks and familiar menacing voice overs are all on show here. Kylo Ren is all dark and lording, Finn prepares for battle alongside the resistance and BB-8 does what BB-8 does. And even though we still don’t have a whole lot of information, there are some pretty awesome promises being made in this trailer.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the first film of the Star Wars sequel trilogy out of Lucasfilm. This addition is directed by JJ Abrams and stars Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Andy Serkis just to name a few.
In case you’re not quite sure where this film fits in to the chronologically misshapen Star Wars Universe, no need to fear, it is merely Episode VII (seven for those playing at home) and takes place 30 years after the events of Return of the Jedi, which is Episode VI but the third film – got it?
Here it is in case you’re having a Lucas induced moment of confusion:
1. 1999: Episode I: The Phantom Menace
2. 2002: Episode II: Attack Of The Clones
3. 2005: Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith
4. 1977: Episode IV: A New Hope
5. 1980: Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back
6. 1983: Episode VI: Return Of The Jedi
7. 2015: Episode VII: The Force Awakens
If you’re still unsure, it doesn’t matter, watch them all (again) anyway.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens premieres December 18.
P.S. Here is the new poster too. Take it all in… if you can.
