Macaulay Culkin Has a Pizza-Themed Velvet Underground Cover Band

Feast your eyes on this: The Pizza Underground.

Formed in February 2012, the band comprises Home Alone child star Macaulay Culkin and four other Lou Reed lovers/pizza enthusiasts. It is exactly how it sounds – A Velvet Underground cover band, but with all lyrics rewritten as odes to pizza. The classic Stephanie Says becomes Papa John Says, and contains the lines:

Papa John says that he’d like to know
Why you’re giving half your pie to toppings you hate now

But I didn’t want anchovies!
People called and they said no mushrooms!

If this whole thing doesn’t sound too cheesy to you, the band has released a free demo EP on bandcamp, with track listing as follows:

-Papa John Says
-I’m Beginning to Eat the Slice
-I’m Waiting for Delivery Man
-Cheese Days
-Pizza Day
-All the Pizza Parties
-Pizza Gal
-Take a Bite of the Wild Slice

Some foreshadowing of this event can be seen in Home Alone: Lost In New York, way back in 1992:
