Kendrick Lamar announces new album ‘To Pimp A Butterfly’ + Reveals album artwork

With his foot firmly cemented in the rap game, Kendrick Lamar is back and has announced details on his highly anticipated return to the thrown, following the success of his critically acclaimed Good Kid, m.A.A.d City in 2012.

Taking to Twitter earlier this week, K.Dot shared a link to an iTunes pre-order page for his follow up album To Pimp a Butterfly,  that is set to drop on March 23, 2015. Set to feature 17 tracks, including the hit single ‘Blacker the Berry’ which he debuted earlier last month, is it too soon to call album of the year?

The albums artwork was also revealed earlier today and features Lamar cradling a young child amongst a dozen of his homies in front of the white house, with a supposedly dead judge laying at their feet. Many have speculated whether or not the cover is a political statement of some short against white privilege and the treatment of African American males in society, but that is unknown. What we do know is that this album is going to be a certified classic if it follows suit to it’s predecessor, with Kendrick set to take full control of hip-hop once again, no doubt.
