Telltale Games, best known for their breathtaking rendition on the Walking Dead comics/T.V mythos are now testing their talents with the ever popular Game of Thrones fiction.

Known for their stellar writing and gripping pacing, Telltale have forged an interesting niche for themselves as a studio which creates entire games based around dialogue. In an industry where spectacle and bombast are the norm, this is no easy feat and may be just what Game of Thrones needs after a couple of sub-par attempts by Cyanide Studios in the form of an RTS and RPG.
Indeed, Telltale’s ability to create engaging and rewarding adventure games may be the perfect fit for the medieval/fantasy series, Game of Thrones. True, Game of Thrones is set in a vast world at war, inhabited by dragons, zombie-like creatures and magic-wielders, but at it’s heart it’s really all about the way the characters interact with each other. In the world of Game of Thrones, what is said is often just as deadly as what is done.
The game will likely follow the styling’s of the television show more-so than the books due to the title ‘Game of Thrones’ rather than the book series’ name ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’. Likewise, obviously an episodic structure suits a television adaptation more than a book adaptation would.
Winter will come next year on consoles, PC + Mac and mobile devices.
