2015 Oscars: Best Dressed

Have I mentioned before that the Oscars is my favorite event of the year? Surely I have. We return once again to take a look a the showing on the red carpet for the 87th Annual Academy Awards.

There was quite the shakeup in attendance this year, which is not at all a bad thing. Hollywood heavy weights like Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Adams are brilliant, but it’s great to see actresses like Rosamund Pike and Emma Stone have their moment.

It was also nice to see that the majority of the dresses worn weren’t the usual silhouettes. There were the obvious winners (featured a bit further below) but then there was quite a few that everyone is struggling to describe their feelings for. 3 of these include Keira Knightley in Chanel, Nicole Kidman in Louis Vuitton, and Gwyneth Paltrow in Ralph & Russo. Their looks at first glance aren’t your traditional Oscars gowns, but they’re not boring either, but then also there’s something a bit off. It’s a strange feeling, have a look.

That brings us to the best dressed of the night. Brilliant color choices, as well as the all important complimentary accessories, hair and makeup. Check out our best-dressed from the night.

Best actress nominee Julianne Moore wore a classic Chanel dress suitable for an Oscar winner. Let’s see if she is one.

I was undecided about this Dior Couture, but look at it for long enough and Marion Cotillard’s look is really quite beautiful, and still very fresh and modern.

Gone Girl’s Rosamund Pike wore quite the classic red carpet red gown, and did very well not to make this Givenchy gown look tacky. Let’s all remember she had a baby 2 seconds ago

Jamie Chung is gorgeous, so it only makes sense she wears a beautifully feminine, sequined gown by Yanina Couture

Reese Witherspoon definitely didn’t look Wild in Tom Ford, but it’s natural, and perfectly fitted, and understated, and amazing.

Normally we’re only jealous of her because of her husband, but now we’re jealous of Jenna Dewan Tatum because of this amazing Zuhair Murad. Also, her husband.

Eddie Redmayne wore his face tonight. And his amazing accent. And his beautifully sweet and gentlemanly British demeanor. Also, he wore this sharp Alexander McQueen suit.

Finally, for our best dressed of the night, we are so happy to award it to a young Aussie woman who is killing it in Hollywood. Margot Robbie absolutely SLAYS in this Saint Laurent dress. Women rarely wear sleeves on the red carpet, but this dress is ridiculous. To boot, it’s got just the right amount of cleavage, paired with her amazing blonde bob and a red lip. I’m done.
